2008′s Iron Man, based on the Marvel Comics character and book of the same name, was a surprise hit when it came out. This was thanks to both Hollywood taking the product seriously and managing to stay true to the original comic while also injecting some bit of realism to the story, not to mention the stellar cast, in particular the perfect choice of Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark. The actor would end up playing the character again in not only the sequel, Iron Man 2, but also in a cameo at the end of The Incredible Hulk and as part of the ensemble cast in last year’s The Avengers. And now Stark, his infamous armor and cast of supporting characters (including Gwyneth Paltrow as love interest Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as best friend James Rhodes, Jon Favreau (who directed the first two films and is still on board as an executive producer) as bodyguard Happy Hogan and Paul Bettany as the voice of Stark’s AI system JARVIS) are back in Iron Man 3, what may be the final film in the franchise (but hardly the final film appearance of Iron Man, who is certain to reappear in Avengers 2). by John Parrishposted in Movies and TV Series, News and Reviews
Spider-man Episode 1 From 1967 – Classic cartoon I use to watch and love as a kid. This episode called “The Power of Dr. Octopus”: follows Dr. Octopus as he kidnaps Spider-Man in order to hold the city ransom. Thank you Marvel Comics for posting this. Great Comic Book Art even for the 60′s. Watch it below and tell me what you think. (more…)

Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a multi-dimensional spider can!
Just like how Batman and Superman have defined DC Comics, Spider-Man has been the posted boy for everything Marvel for many years. The appeal of the main character alongside story lines that include comedy, high octane action and plenty of human drama have made him one of the most iconic super hero characters of all time. This legacy has lead Peter Parker to star in everything from highly acclaimed motion pictures to animated TV shows and, of course, video games. His games have ranged from completely mediocre to some of the best examples of how great licensed games can be. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, first released in 2010, is a game that tries to further explore the mythos of the Spider-Man saga while creating unique game play concepts and original ideas. “The Dark Knight Rises”, the third and final film in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy that presents a realistic take on Batman, is due to hit theaters July 20. But while this will be the last time we’ll see the director helming the Bat-franchise (and most likely see actor Christian Bale as Batman), this won’t be the last “Batman” movie. Warner Bros. has already announced plans to once again reboot the “Batman” film franchise, starting fresh with completely new stories, directors and actors. (more…) -

Christopher Nolan shocked and rocked the world when he breathed new life into the once dead and dormant “Batman” film series, after the colossal turd that was “Batman and Robin” seemed to bury it forever. First “Batman Begins” set the stage, then “The Dark Knight” wowed us with the grand spectacular comic book movie that blew everyone’s expectations away, and now the curtain closes on Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy with his final (at his own admittance) Batman film “The Dark Knight Rises.”

I’d like to start by dedicating this to the memory of the victims of the shooting in Colorado, and express my sympathies to their families. Because those are the oneas we should be thinking about and focusing on, and NOT the idiot who did the deed.
